I was recently contacted by Kendra Thornton, a travel expert who has been featured on television shows like Tyra Banks and Bate Berkus. Regularly she share her tips on planning, packing and numerous other aspects of travel, and she’s thrilled to be starting a new project on fashion as related to travel. When I was selected to participate in her Kendra’s Night Our Challenge, I got so excited about it, and of course I had to say yes. What an amazing and fun opportunity.
Kendra is soon traveling to NYC with a group of friends and she has decided to use her upcoming trip as an opportunity to introduce “Kendra’s Fashion Challenge” in an effort to spruce up her style. The challenge is to create a style board of fashion picks for one of her ngihts in the city. Her plans that I am putting together looks for go as follows:
” During my stay at the Standard Highline Hotel, I have planned a fantastic evening at Le Bain. Located in the penthouse, I will enjoy dancing to the world-famous DJs that visit this fabulous discotheque. With a young, hip crowd, it is essential that I have something trendy and flirtatious to wear. When designing my fashion layout, be sure to keep in mind the plunge pool that is available during the summer, and that I will be enjoying fine French cuisine at Le Bain’s rooftop creperie. As I gaze at the wondrous views from one of New Yorks best hotels, I look forward to knowing that I stand out in the crowd while wearing a lovely outfit that is designed just for this special occasion.”
For look #1 – I decided to use the colors black and white because there’s nothing that says classic better. This look is so chic and yet so simple to put together. Since there’s a pool in this amazing club, I picked out a swimsuit that doesn’t look like the typical beach wear – so you can jump in the pool if desired. The v-neck is so hot this season and by just putting on a classic shorts, you got yourself an outfit perfect for a night out at a club with a pool. I decided to compare this look with a white blazer to make the whole outfit look amazing, and more sophisticated. Put on some incredible pumps and wear your most amazingly clutch – to accessorize your look – and you’re ready for a night out you’ll never forget!
For look number two – I choose to focus on details and accessories in bright colors for the outfit. You can never go wrong with the LBD (little black dress), so that’s why I picked out a special dress with an asymmetric split which will make your legs and shoes really pop forward. Less is more, in this case. Instead of underwear I choose a bandeau bikini so you also will look amazing if wanting to get into the pool or tan on their fab root-top terrace with your friends. The clutch by YSL and these shoes in hot blue – will really make the whole outfit and you’ll look amazingly sophisticated with just a few details!
To complete both looks – go for a classic red lip with matchy red nails. There’s a lot of different red’s out there, so be sure to choose that red color that suits your skin tone the best. You can never go wrong! When it comes to the hair, it’s actually up to you how you’ll like to style it, but I’ve decided to share two hairstyles that I know will make you feel fab and sophisticated at the same time! The classic bun is seen everywhere – it takes the focus off the hair and on to the clothing and your face! Hair style number two is beach waves. This style will make you look and feel fresh. It’s the perfect hairstyle for summer.
