I guess when people ask: “How are you?” or: “Are you ok?” – They don’t really want an answer. At least not an honest one. It’s pretty easy to smile and say: “I’m fine!”, but if you really mean the words that are coming out of your mouth – is something they’ll never know. Deep down on the inside, the words “I’m fine” can have a totally opposite meaning as not fine at all. I guess we all have had days where we have pretended to be okay. Pretended that nothing’s wrong.
When you wake up in the morning with a feeling that it’s not gonna be fine and nothing’s okay, you can only hope for things to get better and you’ll have two choices; Either you can be honest and tell the truth, or take the easiest way out and lie. Just put on a fake smile and pretend, because it’s only you who know exactly how you feel.
To lie isn’t always the right choice, but sometimes it’s the best thing to do. Some things is easier to keep to yourself instead of letting people know, because you’re afraid of what people may think or maybe just because the truth hurts. You’ll try to deny it and forget that it ever happened, but even if you know that it’s impossible to forget, you have to be able to live with it, no matter how much it hurts. When you are in a situation like this, all you can do is to hope that deep down it will get better without anyone knowing the secret you’re keeping inside.
When you lie, all you’re doing is hiding from the truth, even if you know that the bad things always stay with you. They follow you. You can’t escape the past, or the scares you’ve got on the way to the present. All you can do is to be ready for all the good things that are heading your way. It will get better. Eventually…
